My advice for you

For Weston on his high school graduation.

Travel
The world is an amazing place – go find it. You will learn more about yourself exploring other places and cultures than you thought there was to know.

Nap
Never again will you have the luxury of sleeping whenever you want. Nap on your bed, on the floor, in a hammock, in the sun. NAP.

Pray
College is hard and scary and lonely, but it is also fun and exciting and freeing. Never forget that you are not alone in the good times, the bad times, and the times in between. Every day, every choice, every moment will either bring you closer to God or farther away. Lean into Him. Trust Him.

Engage
Talk to everyone. Your professors, your classmates, your waiter. Find out their stories. Ask them about their lives and then shut up and listen. Ask questions and care to know the answer. Make friends, find new hobbies, have deep conversations. Live life.

Love
Love everyone, through your words, your actions, your thoughts. Stand firm in your beliefs, give wise counsel, but always do so with love. Love God, love family, love a girl, love strangers. Never be afraid to love.

Believe
Believe in yourself. Never doubt if you are good enough or smart enough or strong enough. You are. You can do anything and everything. You are in the right place.

Be purposeful
There will be times in life when you do things because you can. DON'T DO THAT. Your life is just a blip on the radar. Do things because you want to. Live with intention.

Give
Give yourself fully and freely. Give your heart, give your time, give your attention. Don’t do anything halfway. The things you only half do will never have a shot at bringing you true happiness. Sometimes you will fall or fail or stumble, but that just makes success sweeter.
