For anyone who feels "not enough"

I love you. You are strong, and I hate it when you feel like you aren't enough. I can’t give you what you need right now, but neither can this world. What you need can only come from Jesus. So instead of focusing on who you think you are or aren’t, here’s what God says about you.

You are made in Christ’s image - Genesis 1:27
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

Your body is a temple - 1 Corinthians 3:16
“Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?”

You are known - Psalm 139:13-14
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”

You are God’s child - John 1:12
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”

You are Christ’s friend - John 15:15
“No longer do I call you servants,[a] for the servant[b] does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

You belong to God - 1 Corinthians 6:20
“for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

You can be confident that God will perfect the work He has begun in you - Philippians 1:6
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.”

You are God’s workmanship - Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Your heart and mind are protected with God’s peace - Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

You are chosen and dearly loved - Colossians 3:12
“Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience”

Your trials will bring God glory - 1 Peter 1:6-7
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

You have all that you need in Christ - 2 Corinthians 12:9
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

Your identity is in Christ and what He has to offer; not in your marriage, not in your parenting, and not in you.

Love always,
M
