What photographers need to know

For Mother's Day this year, I decided I wanted to have photos taken of my grandmother, my mom, and myself as my gift to them. I started researching area photographers, looking for someone with the style I liked. I found a couple of options and reached out to them to start the conversation, and then I waited....

and waited...

and waited...

And they lost me.

During the waiting period, I started taking the Jenna Kutcher Course, and we happened to be going through the module on communication. The things I learned about how to handle potential clients were the exact opposite of how the photographers I contacted were handling me, and they lost my business.

Guys, communication is key! People want to feel heard, and if it takes you two months to get back to a potential client (who has emailed you, contacted you through your website, and messaged you through your business Facebook page over the span of a month and a half), we have a problem!

So here's what you need to know: It only takes a few seconds to respond to clients. It will make a world of difference to them, and your business will be better for it.
