I have nothing to write about. I have been sitting here, staring at a blinking cursor. My mind is swirling with a million things to talk about, but I can't pinpoint one. I could talk about my recent vacation or why black lives matter or why it's important to listen to your body when it's telling you to rest, but instead I just sit here.

On April 7th of this year, I started the Jenna Kutcher Course. The first thing we did was fill out a goal sheet. There were four goals to set, one personal, one wellness, one business, and one dream. Not going to lie, I thought it was a little cheesy, but Jenna made a good enough case for me to do it.

The last few days, I have been at the HOW Conference in Atlanta. For those of you unfamiliar with HOW, it is a giant (and I do mean giant) design conference. I spent the last month or so preparing for the trip, booking the hotel, registering for sessions, and downloading Uber so I could learn how to use it. Little did I know that the sessions I picked, though led by very different people from many walks of life, would continually lead me back to one thought: I need to be less connected, so that I can connect more.

Bieber has been getting some backlash because he has decided that for his health and mental well-being, he will no longer take pictures with his fans. After his announcement, people started losing their minds, telling him to get over it and that it comes with the territory. But should he just get over it? Does it come with the territory?

For Mother's Day this year, I decided I wanted to have photos taken of my grandmother, my mom, and myself as my gift to them. It has something to do with the shortfalls of modern feminism, which teaches women to act like men rather than take pride in being women; it also has something to do with a society that values the magnetism of sexiness over the beauty of motherhood. We have two polar views of women in our culture, and neither of them fully value women’s unique gifts.
